Fraser Island is the world’s largest sand island. It is composed almost entirely of vegetation covered sand with over 40 freshwater lakes and dense rainforest. It is a very special and interesting place to visit.
From Noosa you will travel along the beach passing the Coloured Sands to Rainbow Beach and onto Inskip Point to cross on the Fraser Island Ferry. Travelling along the beach you may see a Dingo before heading inland on rugged sand roads, passing through barren heath land, rainforest and towering hardwood forests to the beautiful Lake McKenzie for a swim and lunch and on to Central Station for a superb rainforest walk.
